Amirzhan Makes His Break

Mike and Janene, the American family that we overlapped with during our first two weeks, have returned to pick up Amirzhan. We are sharing our coordinator, driver and translator with them and, thus, had the pleasure of accompanying them for the day.

Amirzhan is in Yerkezhan’s group at the baby house (i.e. they are roommates). When we arrived in February, there were eight children in Yerkezhan’s group. One left with a Connecticut family a couple weeks ago. Amirzhan left today. When Yerkezhan leaves (whenever that will be) there will only be five left.

Yerkezhan and Amirzhan were able to play together for one last time this afternoon in the playroom. The last time until they meet again on North American soil, that is! After playtime, Yerkezhan was swept back upstairs and Amirzhan was free to go. Go, Amirzhan, go!Zoe Yerkezhan was suffering from her cold today. She is congested and was happy to sit and cuddle much more than usual. The urge to play was not totally suppressed, however. And we managed to snap a few pictures.

Taking the bull moose by the horn (never mind that moose have antlers!)Really, Daddy, this animal is pronounced with three syllables. Can’t you read?Oh boy, time to wipe my nose again?Last but not least, this photo is for Catalina and Calin. :)

Congratulations on completing your appeal period!!! I didn't realize that they didn't allow you to have custody just yet. Geez, talk about baby steps. I'm sure there is a perfectly logical explanation (not!) ;-)

Your writing about your adventures is so enthralling. And seeing the pictures of your gorgeous Zoe and her adorable friends always makes my day! I hope she feels better very soon.

Photos look good. Zoe's little pal is adorable....not sure how many times I have said this but it is worth repeating - these Kaz kids are all adorable!! It will be amazing for you to meet up with this family when you are home on this side of the world. We are just in the middle of figuring out dates for our second annual Karakastek BH reunion in Michigan with the 3 other families we were with in Almaty in April 2006. It is fast becomming one of the highlights of our year. These kids (and their parents aswell) all share a great bond.

Take care and heres hoping you can spring Zoe super soon.
