Zoe and Chengis

Zoe's latest morning wake-up routine includes calling for Chengis. When he comes into her room, she calls out "Hi Chengis" in the cutest sing song voice. She then sticks her feet through the crib slats and wants him to lick them. We will call it a quirk and leave it at that. One particular morning Chengis was determined to sleep in. After various unsuccessful calls, Zoe decided she wanted to go to "Mommy's bed" to wake Chengis up. And down the hall we went. At some point on the approach she began to quietly sneak up on him. It was too cute not to take a picture.
Once Chengis was sufficiently awake it was kisses all around.
Zoe and Chengis get along wonderfully. Yet both are still kids and love to tease each other which often escalates to chasing and squealing. Here is a chase in the making.
Followed by a Little Miss Innocent pose.
Followed by a second invitation to play.
Zoe still loves to sit directly in front of Chengis and blow the whistle.
Luckily his good-naturedness was bred in and does not need to be taught. Though we praise his tolerance at every opportunity, of which there are many.
Zoe routinely gives commands to Chengis usually asking him to sit, wait or come. Often she includes a "please" in her command. The following video shows her trying to play ball with him. The words you hear her saying are drop, please and big throw.

That is adorable! I truly believe that animals add so much to kids' lives. Heck, the first words that Miras learned were "dog" and "meow!"

Chengis and Zoe remind me very much of Miles and Leeza.
Leeza can't say those words yet, but man is her voice adorable! Love that Zoe-she is so cute and love her tights too!!

Okay, I have got to tell you that I am totally relieved to hear that when Zoe went to wake up Chengis she did not lick *his* feet. I was worried there for a second as I was reading along...

Our cat China likes to walk in with me when I wake Audrey up in the morning. She likes to be there and say hello. Audrey loves it too.

Zoe and Chengis are adorable together. Ditto what Kelly said. Kids and animals go hand in hand.
