We spent a day at the Royal Winter Fair with some friends. Zoe and her friend loved all of the animals, especially the SuperDogs show and the horse show.

| Zoe wanted her photo taken with the champion steer. A second before I clicked the photo, however, the steer licked the back of Zoe's neck. It ruined the photo but the memory of Zoe's shriek and the ensuing giggles from Zoe and bystanders alike is worth it. |

| We were surprised to see Santa and a couple reindeer at the fair. But we never bypass an opportunity to get in a good word. |

| It was a cold, blustery day at the fair. As we were leaving, the sun poked through to put on a show on the downtown buildings and the CN Tower. |
Remembrance Day seemed to resonate with Zoe this year. Perhaps it was the death of Grandpa John in late summer. Perhaps it was her awareness of Grandpa John's involvement in previous Remembrance Day ceremonies. Whatever the reason, Zoe's work was adorned with poppies and the occasional gravestone for much of the fall.

Near the end of November is Toronto's annual Santa Claus parade when Santa comes to town and officially launches the season. This year Zoe's elf, Sparky, caught a ride down with Santa on parade day and began his daily hide-and-seek routine at our house.
As we were decorating the house for Christmas, the first snow began to fall. Zoe grabbed a hat and ran outside for a celebratory snow dance. Little did we know then that winter had lots of snow in store for us in the coming months!
We ended the month in full Christmas spirit!
