Happy 7th Birthday, Zoe!

Our January was dominated by the birthday of one cute, little 7-year-old girl.  It has become tradition to take a birthday photo of Zoe and Chengis looking out the front door.  Here are photos taken when Zoe was 2, 4, and now 7.  We can only conclude that Chengis is indeed shrinking! 

 

Zoe's birthday was on a Monday this year so we kept it relatively low key on the actual day.  A special dinner, a cupcake, a present... and off to bed as usual.

The following Saturday was party time!  We had a beach themed party at an indoor sand volleyball facility.  The kids played games in the sand for an hour, took a pizza and birthday cake lunch break, then ended with a half hour in a giant inflatable maze and bouncy castle.

 

We all came home tired and happy after a fun day.  Unfortunately Zoe went to bed that night with a high fever that turned into scarlet fever the next day.  This was her third bout with scarlet fever in just two years!

In other January news, Zoe earned her green belt in karate!  We also settled into winter with some good sledding, made even better by the company of friends.
