This is Zoe's first Easter and, thus, her first encounter with the concept of egg-hiding bunnies. Before the Friday hunt, we explained that there would be eggs in the yard and that she should run to find them and put them in her basket. She repeated her instructions over and over all the way there. But once the kids were let loose in the yard, she and the other younger ones were quickly left behind. Nevertheless, she had fun and didn't take notice of the fact that the big kids all had full baskets compared to the four eggs she picked up. Four eggs that she was very proud of, by the way.
"Borrowing" a friend's basket is an easy way to double your findings.
Zoe talked about bunnies and eggs all weekend, gearing up for this afternoon's "big" hunt all by herself in her own back yard.

Once the eggs were collected, everybody had to line up for the egg inspections. Zoe is big into sorting and organizing things, usually using a system known only to her.
Mmmmm! There are Smarties in this egg!
Smarties make Zoe very happy.
Gotta make sure to get every last one.
While Zoe enjoyed her treasures, Chengis kept a watchful eye out for the Bunny. Just in case.

How much fun she had..adorable! Her hair is so fabulous-it seems to get longer, thicker, and more beauitful each time I see a new picture of the beautiful egg finder!
Leeza's first Easter egg hunt was more successful than the one on Easter. Once she realized there were goodies in the eggs, she didn't care about finding more, she just wanted to open each one as she found them..and dump them on the grass. You can't get very many that way......

Adorable! Miras would have preferred that Chengis took care of the Easter bunny as he was pretty afraid of him! Also, he is starting to organize things too. I guess it's getting to be that age.
Easter egg hunts are fun :) Hiding them after Easter is fun, too.
No, not going to make it to Kazapalooza this year :(. We made it a priority for next year, though!! Hopefully we can get together again on your next trip to SD.
