Zoe's first true favourite book was Good Night San Diego. While other books have since risen to share this favoured status, Good Night San Diego remains an oft requested bedtime book. Sara used to live in San Diego and still has friends there. We remember them every time we read the book!
On the page about the Coronado Bay Bridge there is a picture of a boat with a man and woman inside. We call them Kevin and Maggie - after Sara's friends who have a boat in San Diego. Zoe has to kiss each of them before we go on to the next page. Often we have to come back to this page and kiss them again before putting the book down.
The back page has the picture of a little girl in bed. We named her Marin - after Kevin and Maggie's daughter. We also have to kiss Marin before putting the book down. We cannot wait until we get to kiss the real Kevin, Maggie and Marin!! We miss you guys!! We are still planning a late 2009 visit.
Back in Toronto, we are looking for ways to pass the time while it snows. Sitting on the couch and blowing raspberries only gets you through part of the day....

I love the photos of Chengis and Zoe looking out the window (probably both wishing they could be out playing in the snow). In Chicago, we had a couch like that where the dogs would sit exactly the same way and watch the street. I'm sure Miras would have joined them too. Given the weather that ya'll are having up "north" I'm glad I'm not living in Chicago - nor Wisc - right about now!
