November's highlight was a visit from Zoe's Grandma and Grandpa Gaffney, Sara's parents. They drove up (or technically over) from the States, crossing into Canada at Buffalo. We drove to meet them in Niagara Falls and spent a night there together before continuing on to Toronto.
Zoe was more than happy to see them.
We rented a "Falls View" hotel room and enjoyed the following scenes from our window.
Horseshoe Falls, named for their shape. Most was obscured by a large cloud of mist.
Sunrise over the Niagara River
We had a good view of the casino.
Horseshoe Falls
American Falls, named because they are on the US side of the river. Niagara Falls, NY in the background.
Zoe enjoyed showing Grandma and Grandpa her school playground.
She even convinced Grandma to play, play, play a bit.
Dressed as a princess and reading to Grandma.
Grandpa refereeing a paddle ball game between Grandma and Zoe.
We enjoyed a weekend outing to Parkwood Estate, the home of Sam McLaughlin, founder of General Motors Canada. The home was built in 1915 and remains one of Canada's grand historical estates. A tour of the home concluded with tea and scones in one of the greenhouses.
Pinkies up!
Plenty of fall colours remained even though the calendar said November.
Another garden statue.
