On Thursday (January 13) Zoe turned 4 years old!
Since Zoe loves birthdays and candles, her breakfast year round often includes a muffin with a candle in it. Just one of those little things we humour her with (i.e. willingly give in to!). But on Thursday the candle was for real. Followed by the reminder that she was now FOUR!
After breakfast she opened her birthday gift from Mom and Dad. The rest of the morning was spent in "full assembly required" mode as Mom and Zoe put together her Playmobil farm. It has already provided hours of entertainment making it entirely worth the effort!! 
After Zoe's lunch of choice, a Quiznos meatball sandwich, it was time to frost the birthday cupcakes. Zoe provided tasting assistance and helped to select the frosting colours.
Our decorating was interrupted by the doorbell announcing the delivery of a special package from Grandma and Grandpa in Saskatchewan. Oh the anticipation...!
No time like the present to unwrap a present!
Mukluks!
Chengis was promptly informed that they were Zoe's mukluks and he was not to be sniffing them, which he SO wanted to do.
Mukluk possession settled, it was time to dig into the princess paper doll and Fancy Nancy books that accompanied the mukluks.
Before we knew it, it was party time!! We held the party at The Peanut Club, a local indoor play area. We opted to bring the cake and they took care of the rest ensuring that even the birthday girl's parents could relax and enjoy the party - pure bliss!

It was a very happy day for a very happy girl!!

Okay - I really can not believe it - Zoe is 4 - wow! Wasn't it only yesterday she came home? The photos are great, Zoe is as doll like as ever.......a true beauty.
