As a distraction, I've enlisted my "creative" side to make a fleece hat and scarf for the baby. Even though the pattern was for a baby size, the final product appears to be much bigger. Oh well, he or she will grow into it!
I also made a baby wrap. It's simply a long piece of fabric used to wrap your child onto your back, front or side for easy carrying. Check out http://www.wrapyourbaby.com/kinds.htm for more info on baby carriers. The "making" part involved picking out the fabric (the fun part), cutting it to the desired width and finishing the edges. Pretty easy, even for me. Here's a photo of the pre-cut fabric as it's hanging over our back railing to dry. As you can see, it's bright enough to suit even Julian's taste!
This will likely be our last posting for a week or so unless there is news to report. Julian's family arrives this week for the Grey Cup. That's Canada's version of the Superbowl for the American contingent who likely haven't heard of it. By the end of today we will know whether Toronto (our home team, of course) and Saskatchewan (Julian's family's home team) will advance to play each other in next Sunday's Cup. It would certainly make for a more exciting game from the Yeomans point of view!
